Proper regular maintenance for your CAT excavator engine is the best way to cut breakdown risks and reduce overhaul costs. Many construction teams only repair equipment after failures, which delays projects and raises extra expenses. We sorted out a general maintenance schedule for machine owners and mechanics.

• Daily check: engine oil level, coolant level, oil or water leaks, exhaust condition
• Every 250 hours: replace engine oil & oil filter, inspect drive belt tension and wear
• Every 500 hours: replace fuel filter & water separator, tighten pipe fittings
• Every 1000 hours: check valve lash, turbocharger performance, test cylinder pressure
• Every 2000 hours: inspect wear of crankshaft, cylinder liner and piston assembly, replace parts as needed

Note: Maintenance intervals vary for different CAT engine models. Please check the official parts catalog for reference. Genuine CAT parts are recommended during service, since aftermarket parts tend to fail early.
