The 183-8814 (including alternative models 1838814, 0R-9737) Crankshaft is the core power center of CAT 3508, 3512, 3516 series heavy-duty excavator engines. It is made of high-strength alloy forged steel through the whole process of "integral forging - multi-stage quenching and tempering - precision grinding", and serves as the core executive component for the engine to convert "reciprocating motion into rotational power". Strictly developed in accordance with CAT's original engineering drawings, the crankshaft has an overall structure including multiple sets of main journals, connecting rod journals, reinforced crank arms and integrated balance weights. Aiming at the characteristics of large displacement and high power of the 35-series engine, it adopts a streamlined reinforcement design at the journal transition, and the surface is subjected to deep nitriding hardening treatment, with dimensional accuracy controlled at the 0.003mm level. It is accurately adapted to the cylinder block crankcase of 3508/3512/3516 engines, and works in coordination with high-power piston connecting rod groups and heavy flywheels. It undertakes the core responsibilities of transmitting in-cylinder explosion pressure and driving the excavator bucket excavation and slewing mechanism operation. Widely used in ultra-heavy-duty working conditions such as mine stripping and large-scale infrastructure, it provides rigid support for the continuous and stable output of the engine.

  • Deep Hardening Process, Doubled Wear-Resistant Life:The journal surface adopts the composite process of "ion nitriding + mirror grinding", the depth of the hardened layer reaches 1.2-1.5mm (far exceeding the industry standard of 0.8mm), the surface hardness is increased to HV900-HV1000, and the surface finish is at the micron level. The friction coefficient with the bearing bush is reduced to below 0.05, the wear resistance is increased by 60% compared with ordinary crankshafts, and the journal wear is controlled within 0.01mm per 1000 working hours.
  • Global Dynamic Balance, Excellent Operation Stability and Quietness:The balance weight layout is optimized by 3D finite element analysis, and the global balance correction is carried out by a five-axis linkage dynamic balancing machine. The balance accuracy reaches G0.4 level (unbalance ≤1g·mm/kg per 1000 revolutions). The vibration amplitude of the engine at idle speed is ≤0.15mm, which effectively reduces the impact of body resonance on the hydraulic system and cab, and reduces the noise to below 75 decibels.
  • Original Factory-Level Assembly, Improved Maintenance Efficiency:All key dimensions (journal diameter, span, thrust surface parallelism) are completely consistent with CAT original parts. The fitting clearance with original main bearing bushes, connecting rod bushes and thrust bearings is controlled at 0.02-0.05mm. No reaming or grinding is required during installation, and direct in-situ assembly shortens the engine overhaul time by 30%.
  • Fatigue-Resistant Structure, Suitable for Harsh Working Conditions:The transition between the crank arm and the journal is connected with a large curvature arc (R≥5mm), and the stress concentration factor is reduced to below 1.2 with the help of ultrasonic impact stress relief treatment. It can withstand 2×10^7 cycles of load without cracks through fatigue test.
